DIXFIELD — T.J. Frost walked, moved to third base after two outs and came across with the winning run on a wild pitch in the first inning as Dirigo held on for seven innings for a 1-0 victory over Hall-Dale in a baseball game Friday.

In the sixth inning, Hall-Dale threatened when the Bulldogs eventually had runners on second and third with two outs. But Hunter Ross made a diving catch on a sharply-hit line drive to prevent Hall-Dale from tying the game.

Kaine Hutchins got the win on the mound, striking out 11 batters and walking just two.

Edward Little 7, Brunswick 6

BRUNSWICK — Nate Pushard drove in a pair of runs with a double in the top of the eighth inning and Sean Ford followed with another two-bagger to plate Pushard with what turned out to be the winning run as EL held off Brunswick 7-6 in KVAC baseball action Friday. Ford finished with three hits to lead the Red Eddies’ (1-3) offense. John Simpson earned the win on the hill, with Lew Jensen picking up the save.

Brady Larsen took the loss, but also led the Dragons (1-4) with a pair of hits.

Winthrop 12, Telstar 1

BETHEL — Ben Allen was efficient over the final four innings as Winthrop buried Telstar 12-1 in MVC baseball action Friday.

Following a single, walk and wild pitch, Hunter Chase who had singled, scored the Rebels’ (0-3) only run in the bottom of the first inning.

The Ramblers (2-0) scored three runs on six hits in the second inning. Over the next three frames, Winthrop scored nine runs on just three hits, making use of nine bases-on-balls.

Allen fanned 12 of the last 14 batters he faced and picked up the mound victory for Winthrop.

Greely 9, Poland 0

POLAND — Bailey Train pitched five scoreless innings to secure his second win of the season as Greely blanked Poland 9-0 in WMC baseball action Friday.

The Rangers (4-0) turned on the offense in the fourth and fifth innings with three runs in each frame. Miles Shields had a pair of singles while Train collected a double.

The Knights (2-3) produced only two hits. Kaleb Bridgham had both of them.

Will Bryant pitched in relief over the final two innings for Greely.

Spruce Mountain 8, Lisbon 2

LISBON — Spruce Mountain capitalized on three Lisbon errors in a five-run seventh inning to open up a tight game as the Phoenix notched an 8-2 victory over Lisbon in baseball action Friday.

Brandon Hovey hit a double in the first to give the Greyhounds (2-3) an early lead. Hovey had two of Lisbon’s five hits.

Brandon Hodges hit a two-out 3-2 pitch to right field in the fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie for the Phoenix (2-2).

Scottie Hall went all seven innings and struck out nine to earn the mound victory ofor Spruce Mountain.

Monmouth 8, Mountain Valley 3

MONMOUTH — Junior first baseman Alex Curtis had three hits and RBIs to lead Monmouth to an 8-3 victory over Mountain Valley in MVC baseball action Friday.

Leadoff batter and center fielder Sean Murphy had three hits for the Falcons (1-2) as the Falcons kept pace in hits with nine.

However, the Mustangs (3-0) made better use of their offense as they bolted for three runs in the third and produced a score in each of the next three innings to remain comfortable in the lead.

Nate Gagne earned his first mound win of the season.

Oxford Hills 5, Cony 3

AUGUSTA — Dylan Cox scored the eventual game-winning run in the top of the ninth inning for Oxford Hills as the Vikings catapulted Cony 5-3 in KVAC baseball action Friday.

The Vikings (4-1) had several key offensive events. Chandler Shostak launched a two-run homer in the fifth inning to put Oxford Hills on top 4-1 at the time.

The Vikings tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Matt Beauchesne.

Zach Lachance suffered the mound loss for the Rams (3-2) in spite of a pair of doubles on offense. Garrett Fillebrown picked up his first win of the season for Oxford Hills.

Oak Hill 15, Carrabec 3

NORTH ANSON — Oak Hill jumped out to an early lead and then finished strong to capture a 15-3 win over Carrabec in MVC baseball action Friday.

Jared Glazier earned the win on the mound for the Raiders (2-1). Ryan Riordan and Sam Morin rapped doubles to pace the offense.

Lewiston 7, Mt. Ararat 2

LEWISTON — Brian Wigant went the distance and struck out 10 batters to lead Lewiston to a 7-2 win over Mt. Ararat in baseball action Friday.

The win is Wigant’s first of the season. Michael Wong, Gage Cote and Eric Soucy all had a pair of hits for the Blue Devils (4-1).

Griffin Stockford was the lone repeat hitter for the visiting Eagles (2-3). Reilly Kons took the loss on the hill.
