Firefighters from multiple departments battle a four-alarm fire in downtown Lewiston on Monday. Three apartment buildings were destroyed on Bates, Blake and Pine streets.
Explosions have been reported at the corner of Blake and Pine streets (see map) as firefighters battle a fire at 105 Blake Street. The fire has spread to two nearby apartment buildings, and a fourth building is in danger.
Firefighters continue to saturate several buildings from the Bates Street side that continue to burn into the night.
The first fire was reported at 105 Blake St. just before 4:30 p.m. Monday. It quickly spread to two nearby apartment buildings.
