LIVERMORE FALLS — Hundreds of flags are expected to line Veterans Hill on Park Street from May 24 to 30. The hill is in front of the RSU 73 Central Office building at Park and Cedar streets.
Members of the American Legion Post 10 in Livermore Falls are organizing the display of flags to honor and remember veterans. It is the third year for Veterans Hill.
Members of George Bunten Post 10 Legion will place the 12- by 18-inch flags on the hill for a donation of $5 each. The flags can be placed in honor or memory of a family member, friend or someone’s hero.
People are asked to make out the check to George Bunten Post 10. It can be sent to George Bunten Post 10, 17 Reynolds Ave., Livermore Falls, ME 04254. In the note area of the check or a note attached to the check, people are asked to indicate “In Honor of (name)” or “In Memory of (name).”
After the week of display, the flags will be available from 9 to 11 a.m. June 1 at Post 10, if the person or organization would like to take the flags for a keepsake.
For questions contact Jocelyn Mosher-Collins at 897-4739.
Flags can be added at any time during the week they are on display.
