AUBURN — Announcement is made of the engagement of Amanda Beth Murphy and Trevor Robert Crippen, both of Roslindale, Mass.

Miss Murphy is the daughter of William C. Murphy of Rangeley and Sharon A. Bryant of Auburn. She received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Hamilton College in upstate New York and is currently working as a business analyst for John Hancock in Boston.

Mr. Crippen is the son of Gerald R. Crippen and Diana M. Crippen of Kennewick, Wash. He received a bachelor’s degree in English from Northeastern University in Boston and is currently working at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in Boston.

The wedding is planned for May 31, 2014, in Hull, Mass.
