AUBURN — Claudette Turcotte has retired from teaching at the Temple Shalom Preschool for 30 years.

The Preschool Committee honored her at a surprise gathering May 29. Parents of past and present students attended, along with Turcotte’s family members. In honor of her retirement, the Preschool Committee dedicated the playground to her and posted a permanent sign with the wording “Miss Claudette’s Playground.”

Virginia Caldwell will take over as director/lead teacher of the preschool and Tracey Miller has been hired to be her assistant teacher.
