Diane and George Gendron of Lewiston show off their Roaring ’20s dance moves during the opening night of Rachel’s Speakeasy at Museum L-A on Thursday. “I was going to be happy if we had 50 people at the first one, so I’m really pleased close to 70 people attended,” said Rachel Desgrosseilliers, executive director of the museum. The speakeasy kicked off the “The Roaring ’20s to Swing” exhibit, and the evening featured Prohibition-era libations, dancing and live jazz performed by Roger Renaud. The staff at the museum wanted the fundraiser to be authentic, so a password was needed to enter the museum through the back door. To see more dates and to purchase tickets, visit pssst.museumla.org.
