HARRISON — Harrison Park and Rec will hold the following activities, programs and events.

Youth Basketball: Girls and boys grades 1-6. Weekly practices with games on Saturdays at home and within the SAD 17 district during December through February.

Coed Teen Basketball: Young adolescents in grades 7-11 Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-7:45 p.m. Harrison School Gym. Proper footwear required. Follows school calendar. No cost.

Coed Adult Basketball: Adult 18+ Mondays 6-8:30 p.m. Harrison School Gym. Proper footwear required. Follows school calendar. No cost.

Senior Social and Luncheons: Senior adults 60+ first Tuesday of each month from 11a.m. to 1p.m. at the Community Room next to the fire station. Cost: $3. Healthy meal, word games, guess jar, special activities, bingo and prizes.

Games Seniors Play: Every Tuesday (except senior social day) from 1-3 p.m. the Community Room will be open to folks who wish to play cards, board games, cribbage or work on puzzles. Coffee, tea, hot cocoa and snacks will be available. Bring friends, meet friends and spend some time playing games and having fun.

Trip to Maine Red Claws game: At the Expo in Portland on Sunday, Jan. 5. Cost: $15/person. 5 p.m. game. Bus leaves Town Office parking lot at 2:30 p.m. and returns at 8:30. Call Paula for details. All are welcome.

Super Bowl Skate Fest at Bridgton Ice Rink: Sunday, Feb. 2, 2 p.m. Two hours of ice skating before Super Bowl XLVIII kicks off in New York. Assorted size skates available. Children under 8 are encouraged to wear a helmet and must be accompanied by an adult. Refreshment table. All Harrison residents welcome. Free.

Sledding at High View Farm: Monday, Feb. 17, from 1-4 p.m. Kids and families enjoy three hours of sledding on the big gill located off the Edes Falls Road on the left, two miles from center of town. Children 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Hot cocoa and snacks available. Bring sleds and dress according to the weather.

Snow tubing at Oxford Plains Snow Tubing Park: Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bus leaves Town Office parking lot at 9:15 a.m. and returns at 2 p.m. Cost: $15. Town and tubing release waivers available at Town Office. Call Paula for details. Everyone welcome.

Youth & Family Ice Fishing Derby: “Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs,” Saturday, Feb. 22, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Long Lake. Sponsored by Western Maine Fish & Game in partnership with Harrison Parks and Rec and Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Win a Youth Lifetime Fishing License. Lots of prizes and raffles. Food and warming fire. Call Joe Jack, derby coordinator, at 907-4344.
