BUCKFIELD — Selectmen on Tuesday accepted, with regret, the resignation of Ann Varney from the Zadoc Long Free Library and Judy Berg from the Budget Committee. Varney cited the need for more family time, and Berg said she was overcommitted.

The board accepted a membership application from Wendy Turner for a seat on the Planning Board. The term expires in 2016.

They also accepted Turner’s application for the Beautification Committee for a two-year term.

Town Clerk Cindy Dunn said bids will be sought for a new auditing firm. The town had been with the current auditor for three years.

Selectman Cheryl Coffman said there was no longer a noise issue from Captain Bly’s Tavern.

Coffman also reported that SAD 52 is interested in meeting with the Buckfield Withdrawal Committee studying leaving RSU 10.

Dunn reminded selectmen about setting holiday hours for the transfer station. The board decided to close the station Christmas and New Year’s and open it Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
