Farm market open Thursdays, Saturdays

NORWAY — The Old Squire’s Farm Market is an indoor/outdoor market that is open two days a week for shoppers’ convenience. It is at 493 Main St., across from the Gingerbread House on the corner of Pleasant and Main streets.

Hours are 2 to 6 p.m. on Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

The market supports 20 vendors, some who participate by stocking their products in the market place store.

Currently seasonal products available include greens, lettuce, herbs, perennials, seedlings, baked goods, wood crafts, jewelry, beef, pork, chicken, lamb, soaps and more.

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, at the Alliance Church, across from Telstar, for its meeting and luncheon.

The menu is a variety of summer salads and rolls for those who wish to make a sandwich. Cost is $10.

Nature Club trip to Wolfe’s Neck

OXFORD — The Twin Town Nature Club will meet at 10 a.m. Monday, June 2, in the Walmart parking lot, south side near Route 26, and carpool to Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park, Freeport.

Bring a picnic lunch. Visitors are welcome.

Western Maine Knitting Guild

PARIS — Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, for a brief business meeting.

Following the meeting, they will car pool to the Fiber and Vine yarn shop on Main Street in Norway.

Bring your knitting as well.

New members are always invited to attend meetings.

Rhubarb Festival, white elephant sale

WEST PARIS — The First Universalist Church of West Paris will hold its fourth annual Rhubarb Festival and white elephant sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 7, at the church on Main Street.

This event has become a greatly anticipated happening, with rhubarb enthusiasts from all over coming to get homemade confections, most notably, the pies, as well as muffins, sauces and jams. The Rhubarb Festival also features a white elephant sale this year.

Jurying of new artists for fair

LOVELL — The 39th annual Arts and Artisans Fair will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16, to benefit the Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library.

For artists who would like to take part in this year’s high-quality and all-juried art show, judging of art work will take place on Tuesday, June 10, from 9 a.m. to noon at the library.

VFW plans chicken pie supper

PARIS — A chicken pie supper will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the VFW Hall, 58 East Main St.

Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.
