FARMINGTON — Police said a Temple man faces charges after his vehicle split a utility pole Saturday on Temple Road.

Todd Dalrymple, 28, had minor injuries, Farmington police officer Derrick Doucette said.

Dalrymple was given a summons citing failure to maintain control of a vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign, imprudent speed and not wearing a seat belt, he said.

After an argument with his girlfriend, Dalrymple took off at a high rate of speed on Clover Mill Road just before 2:30 p.m, Doucette said. When Dalrymple got to the intersection with Temple Road, he didn’t stop at the stop sign, turned onto Temple Road and crashed into the utility pole, the officer said.

Dalrymple wasn’t wearing a seat belt and suffered a cut on the lip, Doucette said. A NorthStar ambulance came to the scene, but Dalrymple was not taken to the hospital, he said.

He was driving a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero and was alone.

Members of Farmington Fire and Rescue and Temple Fire Department assisted police at the scene.
