AUGUSTA — Senior forward Joey Gallant scored the eventual game-winning goal as Oxford Hills secured a 3-2 win over Cony in KVAC boys’ soccer action Thursday afternoon.
The Vikings (1-1) led 2-1 at the half. With 10 minutes remaining in regulation, Tyus Ripley fed Gallant, who converted the ball into the back of the net for Oxford Hills.
Goalie Aaron Bernier made nine saves for the Rams (0-2-1), while goalie Jake Beauchesne stopped two to earn the win in net for Oxford Hills.
Gray-New Gloucester 6, Lake Region 1
GRAY — Senior Tyler St.Pierre notched a hat trick in the first 15 minutes of the game to send Gray-New Gloucester to a 6-1 triumph over Lake Region in WMC boys’ soccer action Thursday afternoon.
The Patriots (1-1) posted four goals to make it 4-0 at the half.
Senior forward Ethan Green recorded the only goal for the Lakers (0-3).
Poland 2, Wells 0
WELLS — Kyle Radziszewski provided two assists to propel Poland to a 2-0 victory over Wells in boys’ soccer action Thursday.
Owen Priola managed to push a second goal past goalie Chandler Bridge for an insurance tally for the Knights (1-1).
Goalie Zack Lowe made two difficult saves, tipping shots over the crossbar in the second half to preserve the shutout for Poland.

Traip 3, Poland 0
KITTERY — Freshman midfielder Ellie Batchelder notched a pair of goals to lead Traip to a 3-0 shutout victory over Poland in WMC girls’ soccer action Thursday.
Both teams played a tough first half as the they remained scoreless at the midpoint.
The Rangers (2-0-1) settled into the wet field in the second half, scoring three unanswered goals in the frame.
Goalie Haley Whitworth made eight saves for the Knights (0-1), while goalie Lynne Moore turned away seven to earn the win in net for Traip.
Oxford Hills 3, Cony 0
PARIS — Mikayla Morin collected a hat trick to carry Oxford Hills to a 3-0 shutout victory over Cony in KVAC girls’ soccer action Thursday afternoon.
Morin’s first goal was a shot from the corner 5:24 into the game for the Vikings. She again scored on a corner with 2:40 remaining in the first half.
Goalie Autumn Sudsbury made 14 saves for the Rams, while goalie Sam Bickford deflected three to earn the win in net for Oxford Hills.
Field hockey
Lake Region 2, Poland 0
POLAND — Olivia Deschanes scored a pair of second half goals to lead Lake Region to a 2-0 victory over Poland in field hockey action Thursday afternoon.
The Knights (3-1) scored the first goal of the contest with 21:24 remaining in the second half when Amanda Dube found the back of the net.
The Lakers (3-1) responded 11 minutes later when Deschanes landed the equalizer, and she tallied another with 6:21 remaining for the eventaul game winner.
Goalie Tia Lowndes made seven saves for Poland, while goalie Meghan VanLoan prevented 34 to earn the win in net for Lake Region.
Lawrence 3, Oxford Hills 1
PARIS — Dominique Lewis recorded a pair of goals as Lawrence trotted to a 3-1 victory over Oxford Hills in KVAC field hockey action Thursday afternoon.
The Vikings (3-1) scored first as Erin Morton posted a first half goal.
The Bulldogs (4-0) tallied three unanswered second half goals to remain undefeated on the season.
Goalie Shannon Fillebrown made 12 saves for Oxford Hills, while goalie Emily Tozier repelled five to earn the win in net for Lawrence.
