PLYMOUTH, Mass. — Theresa M. (Kiehle) Whelan of Plymouth, Mass., and formerly of Charlestown, Mass., died on Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Life Care Center of Plymouth, at the age of 87. She was the beloved wife of the late Emmett E. Whelan for 65 years.

Theresa was born in Boston, Mass., a daughter of the late Henry and Mary (McNeil) Kiehle, and lived in Charlestown, Mass., before moving to Plymouth, Mass., 30 years ago. She enjoyed singing, traveling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Joseph Whelan and his wife, Donna, of Lewiston, Thomas Whelan and his wife, Christine, of Sanford, Cheryl Maddock and her husband, Dennis, of Plymouth, Mass., and Kathleen Pirc and her husband, Dale, of Cave Creek, Ariz. She also leaves her brother, Francis “Jimmy” Kiehle, of Kingston, Mass.; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sister, Florence Higgins.
