HIRAM — One teen was killed Saturday morning and three others were injured in an early-morning wreck on South Hiram Road.
According to Oxford County police, a vehicle carrying four boys between the ages of 16 and 19 left the road and struck a utility pole just west of Sacopee Valley High School.
Police responded to the scene by 1:51 a.m. Saturday morning, according to a news release from the Oxford County Sherif’s Office.
Police did not release the names of the driver or passengers.
An 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The 17-year-old driver was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was treated for injuries and was expected to be released.
Two other passengers, a 16-year-old and a 19-year-old, were taken to Maine Medical Center and admitted for special care with serious injuries, according to the news release.
