Lewiston 69, Skowhegan 40

SKOWHEGAN — Ryan Bell paced Lewiston with 13 points Friday night in the Blue Devils’ 69-40 KVAC boys’ basketball victory over Skowhegan.

Tykeem Gaines helped the Devils (2-1) with 11 points, while Trever Irish dropped in 10. Skowhegan (1-2) received a game-high 15 from Isaac Witham.

Dirigo 71, Telstar 45

BETHEL — Riley Robinson paced the Dirigo Cougars with 26 points in their 71-45 MVC boys’ basketball victory over Telstar.

Gavin Arsenault chipped in 11 for Dirigo (3-1). Maverick Griffin had 11 to lead Telstar (1-3).

Leavitt 61, Nokomis 43

NEWPORT — Isaiah Calder poured 22 points into the net Friday evening to propel Leavitt to a 61-43 KVAC romp over Nokomis in boys’ basketball.

Korey Caito chipped in 19 points for the Hornets (2-1). Zach Hartsgrove topped Nokomis (0-3) with 12.

Messalonskee 60, Mt. Blue 36

FARMINGTON — Messalonskee jumped out to a 16-point advantage in the first frame and raced away to post a 60-36 victory over Mt. Blue in an early-season KVAC boys’ basketball tilt Friday. 

Nick Mayo led the Eagles (3-0) with 25 points, while Nathan Violette chipped in 10.  Colton Lawrence paced the Cougars (1-1) with 13 points.

Cape Elizabeth 70, Gray-New Gloucester 48

GRAY — Justin Guerette led four players in double figures Friday as Cape Elizabeth hustled to a 70-48 WMC boys’ victory over Gray-New Gloucester.

Guerette led the Capers (3-0) with 18 points, while Jack O’Rourke tallied 15 and Eddie Galvin added 13. Ethan Murphy contributed 11.

Andreas Kariotis paced the Patriots (1-1) with 15 points. Zack Haskell chipped in 11 and Tyler St. Pierre added nine. 

Rangeley 61, North Haven 60

NORTH HAVEN — Rangley used a 19-16 run in the fourth quarter to edge North Haven, 61-60, in an EWC boys’ basketball battle Friday evening.

Wyatt Dellavalle led the Lakers (1-1) with 21 points, while Orrin Mitchell tallied 14 and Timmy White added 12. 

Avery Waterman racked up a game-high 30 points for the Hawks, while Aiden Emerson chipped in 18. 

Winthrop 86, Oak Hill 34

WALES — Winthrop had four players in double figures as the Ramblers beat Oak Hill 86-34 in MVC boys’ basketball Friday.

Jacob Hickey lead Winthrop (4-0) with 17 points, four steals and five rebounds while Dakota Carter and Anthony Owens each had 11. Matt Sekerak added 10. Dalton Therrien led Oak Hill (1-3) with 12 while Adam Merrill had six.

The Ramblers raced out to a 25-9 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Taylor Morang finished with eight assists, six steals, three rebounds and four points for Winthrop.
