FARMINGTON — The 5K Tint Sprint planned for Saturday at the University of Maine at Farmington has been postponed until September.

The UMF Health Club ordered the powder paint used but a mix-up made it impossible to receive it from Ohio in time, said Tricia Tzikas, president of the UMF Health Club, which decided to postpone the event.

The club held the first Tint Sprint last April as a fun way to begin the spring season. The group also plans a Turkey Trot 5K in the fall.

Runners and/or walkers start off wearing white T-shirts. At every mile, powder paint is thrown at them. Paint is also thrown at the start and end of the race, Tzikas said.
