AUBURN — Bailey Beers scored on an overthrow when Brook-lyn Millbury made a sacrifice bunt to give Mt. Abram a 1-0 mid-season victory over St. Dom’s.

Katie Jordan gave up just two hits and struck out 12 to notch the shutout.

Johanna Cullenberg went the distance for St. Dom’s (1-9) and was tagged with the loss.

Mt. Blue 8, Hampden 0

HAMPDEN — Caitlin Kane scattered five hits and drew ample run support as Mt. Blue shut down Hampden, 8-0, in KVAC softball action Friday.

The Cougars (4-6) put up four runs in the third frame thanks to base hits by Moesha Harrington, Addie Brinkman, Taylor Burke and Kane. Rachele Bator belted a two-run homer in the sixth, while Kane helped her own cause with four hits.

Abby Lord led the Broncos (2-8) with two hits.

Hall-Dale 2, Mountain Valley 1

RUMFORD — Eva Shepherd drove in a pair of runs on two singles Friday to propel Hall-Dale to a 2-1 MVC victory over Mountain Valley.

Emma Begin also belted out two hits for the Bulldogs (8-2) in a two-player effort.

Emily Laubauskas worked all seven innings for the Falcons (2-6) and suffered the loss.

Brewer 9, Lewiston 7

BREWER — Cassie Green smashed a two-run home run in the seventh inning to give Brewer a 9-7 victory over Lewiston in a KVAC softball matchup Friday.

Delaney Davis led the Witches with three hits and three RBIs, while Sam Pallegrino and Brooke Richards each belted out two hits and drove in a run.

Lexi Poulin led the winless Blue Devils (0-10) with three hits and two RBIs, while Jordan Mynahan drove in two runs on three hits.

Oak Hill 10, Carrabec 6

WALES — Kayla Veilleux smashed a bases-loaded trhip in a six-run fifth inning as Oak Hill slipped away from Carrabec with a 10-6 victory in a softball game Friday.

Iris Abbott tripled and singled and Grace Sabine had two hits.

Makayla Nadeau got the win on the mound after Sadie Goulet game in relief for the crucial out.

Despite eight errors, the Raiders (7-3) still got the job done. Liberty Chestnut had two singles for Cobras (6-4).

Baseball

Dirigo 10, Telstar 0

BETHEL — Mitch Kubesh hurled six innings of one-hit baseball Friday and received adequate run support as Dirigo overpowered Telstar, 10-0, in a MVC matchup.

Tyler Frost, Kane Hutchins and Cooper Chiasson belted back-to-back RBI doubles for the Cougars (9-1) in the sixth frame. Gavin Arsenault drove in a pair of runs on two hits, while Nick St. Germain also pounded out two hits.

Blake Rothwell led the Rebels (2-7) by breaking up the no-hitter for Kubesh.

St. Dom’s 12, Mt. Abram 0

SALEM — After building a 2-0 lead in the first three frames, St. Dom’s erupted for eight runs in the fourth and sped away to post a 12-0 rout over Mt. Abram in l baseball action Friday.

Gavin Bates worked the first three frames and gave up just one hit, while he and Michael Bryant belted out timely RBI doubles.

Hall-Dale 7, Moutain Valley 3

RUMFORD — Pitcher Owen Stebbins had three hits and two RBIs to lead Hall-Dale to a 7-3 victory over Mountain Valley in MVC baseball action Friday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (7-3) loaded the bases in the top of the seventh inning following a three-inning scoring drought. The catcher Sam Moulton was hit by a pitch to walk in the eventual game-winning run.

Sophomore catcher Nick Newman had two singles and an RBI for the Falcons (5-4).

Brewer 11, Lewiston 1

BREWER — Pitcher Matt Pushard smashed a grand slam in the 10-run third inning and collected the mound win as Brewer flew away with an 11-1 victory over Lewiston in KVAC baseball action Friday afternoon.

The Witches (7-3) bats came alive in the bottom of the third inning. They whipped up 10 hits in four innings at the plate and Pushard plated five of their 11 runs.

Senior first baseman Carter Chabot produced one of the Blue Devils (2-8) two hits, and scored the lone run.

Leavitt 7, Gardiner 2

GARDINER — Pitcher Mitchel Davis scattered four hits and got a complete game win as Leavitt stung Gardiner 7-2 in baseball action Friday afternoon.

Davis fanned six batters and carried he shutout into the seventh inning before giving up a pair of runs.

The Hornets broke through early with four runs in the second inning. Leavitt received a double from Ian Godfrey, while Chad Morin drove in two runs.

Eli Fish had two hits for the Tigers in the loss.

Portland 6, Oak Hill 4

PORTLAND — Midfielder DJ Cooper netted three goals as Portland survived a 6-4 outing over Oak Hill in boys’ lacrosse action Friday evening.

The Raiders twice came back from two-goal deficits, but could not do it a third time. Sophomore midfielder Steven Gilbert paced Oak Hill with two goals.

Senior goalie Matty Martin made 13 saves for Oak Hill.
