FARMINGTON — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will present a Preserving the Harvest workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, at the Franklin County UMaine Extension office, 138 Pleasant St.

UMaine Extension staff will lead the workshop, which will include hands-on, USDA-recommended food preservation methods, including hot water bath canning.

Participants will make pickled dilly beans to take home. Fresh produce, canning jars and other canning equipment will be provided. Participants should bring a potholder.
