RANGELEY — Tickets for the Annual Home Tour and Taste of Rangeley, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 4, are now on sale at the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce. The proceeds from this annual Rangeley Friends of the Arts (RFA) event help to fund arts education programs for all area students and to provide a scholarship for a graduating senior.

Tickets are $15.

The Home Tour offers a wide range of architecture, interior design and locations. Wear  walking shoes in order to fully enjoy the six homes on the tour. A group of three homes in Pleasant Island showcase an area that may be one of the region’s “best kept secrets.” This area of Rangeley originated as Pleasant Island Camps, a colony of fishing camps established by Billy Soule, and now has a mix of historic to contemporary homes. The three homes in Rangeley include a very charming renovated log home, a fairly new classic design home with a breathtaking southwest view of the lakes, and a newly renovated summer home with exquisitely planned interior design and furnishings.

The tour of homes culminates with an appetizer extravaganza at 3:30 p.m. The Taste of Rangeley, The Gingerbread House Restaurant in Oquossoc will again host the event, where many  local restaurants willdonate samples of a wide variety of tasty treats—from appetizers to desserts.
