PORTLAND (AP) — Cruise ship season in Portland is bringing 10 more ships and 15,000 more passengers than 2014.
A spokeswoman for the city says this year’s cruise season will see 84 cruise chips and more than 97,000 passengers come to Portland between May and November. The season is heading into its September and October peak.
More than 5,000 passengers and 2,000 crew members will be in Portland on Wednesday when the Carnival Splendor and the Summit are expected to arrive in the city.
The biggest ship Portland has ever hosted, the Liberty of the Seas, is expected to arrive on Sept. 12.
