GREENE — “American Safari,” a film by Marlin Darrah exploring Tanzania in East Africa, will be presented at 2 and 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at Araxine Wilkins Sawyer Foundation.

The program is free of charge.

Tanzania is the land of safaris, with wildlife galore, idyllic beaches, snow-capped Kilimanjaro, moss-covered ruins, friendly people and fascinating cultures. The country of 43 million people is politically stable and has enjoyed 50 years of peaceful independence. Religious and ethnic conflicts are close to nonexistent in Tanzania.

The film includes scenes of nature, wildlife and people in national parks and a visit to the “Spice Island” of Zanzibar, an exotic paradise with white palm-fringed beaches and turquoise coves and ancient Islamic ruins.

“American Safari” was shot in high-definition video in 2013.

Araxine Wilkins Sawyer Foundation is at 371 Sawyer Road.
