I am writing in support of the re-election of Lewiston City Councilor Michael Lachance, Ward 7.

I was born and raised in Lewiston and, after living away for 20 years, returned to a very different Lewiston.

I met Lachance two years ago while he was campaigning in my neighborhood. He is a very nice man who wants to be of service to his community.

I was quite surprised to learn that somebody was running against him in the upcoming election. I learned that the Maine People’s Alliance is running its own candidates against incumbents in an effort to advance its own agenda. The alliance is a special interest group; its organizers are not from Lewiston. They are not good for this city.

I support Michael Lachance and hope the citizens of Lewiston will vote for the local, incumbent candidates, not strangers.
