AUBURN — St. Dom’s Avery Lutrzykowski scored a pair of goals in the first half and the Saints (8-1-1) held off Mt. Abram (2-5-2) the rest of the way for a 2-0 victory in a girls’ soccer game Thursday.
St. Dom’s goaltender Victoria Sasse kept her vigil but did not have to make a single save.
Bugsy Hammerton and Emma Theriault picked up assists on Lutrzykowski’s second goal.
Gray-New Gloucester 4, Poland 0
POLAND — Emma Woods and Kaelyn Woods each had a pair of goals to lead the Gray New-Gloucester Patriots to the 4-0 win over the Poland Knights in WMC girls’ soccer action.
The Patriots (4-4-1) had a 3-0 lead at halftime. Emma Woods also recorded an assist along with Emily Dawkins.
Jennifter Sutherland had six saves in the victory, while Erin Brewer made 10 stops for Poland (1-8).
Oak Hill 3, Wiscasset 1
WALES — Halee Lair had a goal and an assist to lead the Oak Hill Raiders to the 3-1 victory over the Wiscasset Wolverines in a MVC girls’ soccer game.
Rylea-Mae Swan opened up the scoring for the Raiders 2:47 into the game with Kierra Rolston picking up the assist.
Lair set up Brittaney Marquis’ goal 18:42 into the second half. Three minutes later, Grace Webber scored off a corner kick to cut into Oak Hill’s lead to 2-1.
Lair picked up the insurance marker with 8:25 remaining in the game.
Anna Dodge made 12 saves for Oak Hill (6-4) including one off a penalty kick in the first half. Lindsey Gordan had 29 saves for the Wolverines (1-8).
Monmouth 7, Winthrop 0
WINTHROP — Sidney Wilson had a hat trick to pace the Monmouth Academy Mustangs to the 7-0 victory over the Winthrop Ramblers in girls’ soccer action.
Taylor Spadafora had a pair of goals, while Haley Fletcher and Sarah Scott had a goal each.
Mikayla Cameron only needed fives saves for the victory, while Shie Smith had 26 saves for Winthrop.
Field hockey
Cony 10, Lewiston 0
AUGUSTA — Delaney Keithley recorded a hat trick to lead the Cony Rams to the 10-0 victory over the Lewiston Blue Devils in KVAC field hockey action Thursday afternoon.
Haley Ward and Cari Hopkins each had two goals a piece for Cony (8-3). Hopkins also added an assist. Lindsay Johnson, Kami Lambert and Abigal Silsby each had a goal. Jacqueline Carlton made two saves for the victory, while Kaylyn Labonte had 27 saves for Lewiston (2-9).
St. Dom’s 0, Winthrop 0
WINTHROP — Despite overtime, Winthrop (6-3-1) and St. Dom’s could not settle the matter and played to a 0-0 tie in a field hockey game Thursday.
Winthrop golaie Corinna Coulton made eight saves and St. Dom’s netminder Abby Slonina made 10.
Oxford Hills 1, Hampden 1
HAMPDEN — After both field hockey teams scored in the first half, Oxford Hills and Hampden Academy went scoreless the rest of the way in the 1-1 draw in double overtime.
Emma Davidson opened the scoring for the Vikings as Bailey Wood assisted on the goal with 18:46 remaining in the first half. A little over six minutes later Julia Sicard notched the tying marker.
Anna Huff made four saves for Oxford Hills while Mary Batsie stopped seven shots.
Boys’ soccer
Monmouth 4, St. Dom’s 1
MONMOUTH — Avery Pomerleau had a goal and two assists to lead the Monmouth Academy Mustangs to the 4-1 victory over the St. Dominic Academy Saints in boys’ soccer action.
The Mustangs jumped out to the 3-0 lead in the first half with the goals coming from Mat Folke who opened the scoring three minutes into the game. Pomerleau scored with 26 minutes left in the half while Shane Kenniston scored under seven minutes remaining in the half.
Gage Cote who had an assist in the first half scored 15 minutes into the second half for Monmouth (8-1). Connor Samson assisted on Austin Roy’s goal for the lone tally for St. Dom’s (5-2-1).
Bradley Neil only needed to make six saves for the win, while Alex Michaud and Gavin Bates combined to make seven saves for St. Dom’s.
