RUMFORD — After several weeks of postponing opening day because of mild temperatures, Black Mountain of Maine will officially open Wednesday, Dec. 30.
Marketing Director Deanna Kersey said the staff has been “making snow around the clock” and is “looking forward to another 8 to 12 inches on Tuesday into Wednesday.”
“For early-season conditions, it is looking great,” she said.
Upper Androscoggin, Lower Androscoggin, Upper Sunday and Ellis trails will be open.
Black Mountain was forced to postpone its opening date twice in December due to mild temperatures, and had to move its first hill climb of the season from mid-December to late January.
Kersey said the café will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Last Run Pub from noon to 4 p.m.
