KINGFIELD — The lineup for the 2016 POPS, set for June 25, includes musicians from an array of genres including jazz, folk and country rock. Co-headlining and collaborating are the Bangor Symphony Orchestra, led by Grammy-award winning conductor Lucas Richman and nationally-touring The Mallett Brothers Band. Defying any one genre, The Mallett Brothers Band shakes country, rock and Americana together for a style that is theirs alone. Since 2009, the band has released four studio albums including the latest, Lights Along the River which was named “Best Album of 2015” by Blue Collar Songwriting.
Early bird tickets for the 14th annual Kingfield POPS featuring the Bangor Symphony Orchestra available for $20 through May 15 at the Tranten’s Markets and Skowhegan Savings Banks in Kingfield and Farmington or online at kingfieldpops.com. As always, youth 17 and under are free. Sponsors have helped hold ticket prices at $20 since the inaugural event in 2003.

The Fogcutters, 19-piece big band with a different perspective on the classic big band will also perform. The Fogcutters’ contemporary jazz has been influenced by musical masters of the past and present resulting in a distinctive sound and eclectic style that is anything but traditional.
Ghost of Paul Revere is a folk band that wows audiences with powerful three-part harmonies, energetic performances and a nontraditional way of interpreting traditional American music.
The event will take place at the Kennedy Farm in Kingfield, and as always, Western Mountain Trashcan Band will welcome ticket-holders to the venue.
The mission of the Kingfield POPS is to provide music and art programming for regional residents, youth and schools.
