RANGELEY — Catcher Zack Trafton knocked in the game-winning run in th bottom of the eighth, giving Rangeley a 9-8 baseball win over Buckfield on Tuesday.
Cal Crosby got on after being hit by a pitch and came home with the winning run on Trafton’s hit.
The game was tied 8-8 after seven innings. For Rangeley, Bo Beaulieu doubled and singled and Kyle LaRochelle had three hits. Zack Clark added two hits.
For Buckfield, Jerry Gagne hat two hits and Ethan Jackson doubled and tripled.
Monmouth 14, Carrabec 0
MONMOUTH — Chandler Harris had three hits, scored two runs and drove in four to lead unbeaten Monmouth Academy to a 14-0 win over Carrabec in MVC baseball Tuesday.
Hunter Richardson added a pair of hits while Nick Sanborn hurled a two-hitter for the Mustangs (8-0). He struck out four and improved his record to 4-0.
Monmouth scored twice in the first and then put up nine runs for a 11-0 lead in the second. The Mustangs added three more in the third.
Trent Richardson had both hits for Carrabec (4-4).
Medomak Valley 13, Leavitt 3
TURNER — Riley McCollette hurled a complete game and scattered seven hits to lead Medomak Valley to a 13-3 win over Leavitt in KVAC baseball Tuesday.
Leavitt was playing in its fifth game in six days. The Hornets tied the game 1-1 in the second but watched the Panthers scored twice in the fourth for a 3-1 lead. Leavitt was as close as 3-1 after four, but Medomak Valley scored three in the sixth and seven in the final inning to break the game open.
Ollie Brown had three hits for the Panthers (4-4), including a pair of doubles. Leavitt (5-4) got a pair of hits each from Chad Morin and Julian Kirouac.
Softball
Medomak Valley 5, Leavitt 1
TURNER — Winning pitcher Gabby DePatsy struck out seven batters and Abby Nelson and Julie Jameson tripled, pointing Medomak Valley to a 5-1 victory over Leavitt in a softball game Tuesday.
Leavitt’s Hannah DeBlois doubled and singled. For Medomak, Abby Nelson, Gabby Depatsy and Maddie White each had two hits.
Buckfield 15, Rangeley 5
RANGELEY — Buckfield used 10 hits and winning pitcher Julie Dow was strong in the circle as Buckfeld walloped Rangeley 15-5 in a softball game Tuesday.
The Bucks (6-2) erupted with eight runs in the sixth inning. Bri Damon doubled twice and singled and Abby Fogg had three hits.
For Rangeley (2-4), Blayke Morin doubled and singled and Sydney Rocye had two hits.
