PHILLIPS — Members of the Phillips Area Micro-Loan committee will be available for confidential discussions on loan options from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1.

Appointments can be made by calling 207-639-5000. The location of appointments — either the Phillips Town Office or Avon Town Office — will be determined by the time of day appointments are made.

Committee members will explain the application process and answer questions.

The Phillips Area Micro-Loan provides affordable loans for people wishing to start up or continue small business in Phillips, Avon and Madrid Township. Loans up to $25,000 are available. The business must be in Philips, Avon or Madrid Township; however, the person applying is not required to live in those places.

There are no application fees. The applicant, however, will be responsible for any fees associated with the loan, such as legal, filing and closing documents.
