LEWISTON — The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce’s next seminar in its Finance Matters Series is set for Wednesday, June 15.

It will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the chamber’s conference room at 415 Lisbon St. The topic will be Exit Planning: Deep Dive into Buy-Sell Agreements. The workshop will be led by David Jean, CPA, CCIFP, CExP, principal of Albin, Randall & Bennett.

A buy-sell agreement provides for continuity of ownership and management. It also protects the assets of the company and the owners. Discussed will be the structuring of a buy-sell agreement and its elements, including triggering events, funding and valuation provisions. Also reviewed will be common and costly mistakes, and unique considerations for closely-held businesses.

Jean specializes primarily in financial accounting and consulting for closely-held businesses, including construction, manufacturing and real estate development companies.

Seminars cost $25 for members, $50 for nonmembers.
