LIVERMORE FALLS — A dozen vehicles were rummaged through and items stolen from half of them early Sunday morning at Camp Good News on Campground Road, Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Tuesday.

Items, including coins, sunglasses, a backpack and a laptop, were removed from six vehicles. Other vehicles were rummaged through and items were strewn around in them, he said.

All vehicles had been unlocked except for one, which had an alarm that apparently went off when someone tried to reach through a window to unlock it.

Some counselors heard the alarm around 4 a.m. but did not investigate, Steward said.

The cars were not damaged.

The case is under investigation, Steward said.
