LEWISTON — Nationally-acclaimed singer-songwriter Don Campbell and his band will perform An Evening of Dan Fogelberg Music on Friday, Oct. 21, at the new Agora Grand Event Center, 220 Bates St.
The concert will benefit Community Concepts, a nonprofit providing free programs and services for people of low-income in Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin counties to help them move out of poverty and become more self-sufficient.
Fogelberg was a multiplatinum-selling recording artist, with hits such as “Longer,” “Leader of the Band,” and “Same Old Lang Syne.” He passed away in 2007 after a three-year battle with prostate cancer.
He was a huge influence and musical hero of Don Campbell.
As a tribute to Fogelberg, Campbell created a 23-song double CD titled “Kites to Fly: Celebrating The Music of Dan Fogelberg.” He will perform songs from this album at the concert, which will include many of Fogelberg’s hits as well as favorites from across Campbell’s career.
Tickets are $25 per person for concert admission. There is a $75 VIP dinner package option that includes at 5-course wine dinner, from 5 to 7:15 p.m. and premium seating at the concert, which begins at 8.
