LEWISTON — Noel Madore is running unopposed as a Democrat to succeed Elaine Makas as the Androscoggin County Commissioner for District 1.

Madore is on the Lewiston Public Library board of trustees, is secretary of the Board of Tax Assessment Review and a lifetime resident of Androscoggin County.

He holds a master’s degree in public policy management and a bachelor’s degree in public management.

Madore hopes to tackle what he feels are the county’s biggest problems: jail funding, jail conditions, the tax rate and high legal fees.
