“The process of registering to vote and actually casting your ballot can be daunting, particularly for new voters,” Dunlap wrote in a statement. “Our hope is that these animated videos will make it more interesting and fun to learn about the process.”
The first video — “Maine Voter Guide Part 1: Registering to Vote” — explains how to fill out the voter registration card. The second — “Maine Voter Guide Part 2: Casting Your Ballot” — covers election day information and how people can get assistance casting their ballots.
The videos are available on YouTube and the department’s Voter Information page.
Election Day is Nov. 8, 2016 — the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
