FRYEBURG — The Met Opera Live in HD will present Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center, 18 Bradley St.
The estimated run time is about three hours and 22 minutes, with one intermission. Tickets are $26 for adults, $23 for seniors, and $18 for students. They are available at the door or can be ordered by calling 207-935-9232 or by visiting www.fryeburgacademy.org/pac.
Simon Keenlyside, Ildar Abdrazakov and Mariusz Kwiecien share the role of the title hero, who goes to hell in a dazzling coup de theatre. The ensemble of great Mozartean singers includes Angela Meade, Marina Rebeka, Isabel Leonard, Matthews Polenzani, Erwin Schrott and Paul Appleby. Conductors are Fabio Luisi and Placido Domingo.
Joe De Vito’s Opera Lecture Series at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, will offer an in-depth look at the the opera’s story, music and composer. It’s free and open to the public.
