AUGUSTA — TWAW Central Maine Shooting Chapter will give women of all experience levels the opportunity to be introduced to issues important to women shooters, learn safe gun handling skills and train together.

TWAW Central Maine Chapter is being spearheaded by Meghan Gilbert. Events will be held monthly and open to all women, 21 years or older. TWAW Shooting Chapters has partnered with Top Gun of Maine Shooting Range to be the host range for these monthly events. Time will be devoted to discussion and topical study as well as time on the range learning and practicing safe gun handling skills at each monthly event.

This indoor range will offer expanded opportunities not found at a typical indoor shooting range.

Participants will be required to pay the $10 cash range fee and supply their own firearm and ammunition, rentals are available. Annual Chapter membership dues of $50 offers members local and national discounts, chapter hat and member kit and is used to cover chapter expenses, insurance and events. First time attendees are not required to join.

The first shoot is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 13  from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Top Gun of Maine Shooting Range 481 Maine Avenue, Poland Spring.
