Above are Sophia Carson and Noah Morgan as Belle and the French Prince of Belle Aire, in a scene from  Auburn Middle School Drama Club’s “Games of Tiaras” by Don Zolidis. The play opens at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in the Auburn Middle School theater. Additional performances are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2 and 3. There will be a matinee at 2 p.m. Dec. 3. When the aging king of a magical kingdom (England) decides to split his empire between his three daughters, Cinderella, Belle and the Snow Queen (who in no way resembles a copyrighted character), terrible tragedy ensues. Combining the gut-wrenching plot twists of “Game of Thrones” and the soul-numbing despair of Shakespearean tragedy, this adaptation of “King Lear” will leave audiences dying with laughter as the body count mounts.
