PORTLAND — Senior center Jordyn Reynolds collected a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds as Edward Little held on for a 37-34 victory over Cheverus in girls’ basketball action Tuesday evening.

The Red Eddies (2-2) grabbed a rebound on a three-point attempt to tie the game by the opposing team at the buzzer. Junior guard Piper Norcross contributed eight points for Edward Little.

Junior point guard Abby Cavallaro notched a team-high 13 points for the Stags (2-1) in the losing effort.

Forest Hills 49, Buckfield 34

JACKMAN — After sprinting out to a 15-point advantage in the first quarter, Forest Hills kept the offense in high gear and raced away to record a 49-34 victory over Buckfield in a girls’ basketball tilt Tuesday.

Patricia Lessard and Caitlin Logston led the Tigers (2-2) with 15 points apiece in an effective two-player attack.

The Bucks (1-3) were paced by Seneca Jacobs with a solid nine-point effort, highlighted by a pair of shots from beyond the arc.

Mt. Abram 38, Oak Hill 31

SALEM — Mt. Abram nailed 11 foul shots in the fourth quarter Tuesday to pull out a 38-31 victory over Oak Hill in more girls’ hoops action.

Meg Sorel led the Roadrunners (2-1) with 12 points, while Mayra Beede chipped in with 10.

The Raiders (1-2) were paced by Desiree Dumais with 14 points, while Abby Nadeau added eight.

Monmouth 60, Winthrop 30

MONMOUTH — Monmouth built a 20-point lead in the first half Tuesday and sped away to a 60-30 romp over Winthrop in more early-season girls’ basketball action.

Katie Butterfield led the Mustangs (4-0) with 13 points, while Abbey Allen and Tia Day each chipped in with 11.

The Ramblers (2-2) were led by Jillian Schmelzer with a solid 11-point effort, while Bri McClure and Layne Audet added six points apiece.

Leavitt 44, Kennebunk 28

TURNER — Leavitt outscored its opponents 30-8 in the second half Tuesday and went on to record a 44-28 rout over Kennebunk in more local girls’ hoops action.

Elizabeth Goulette led the Hornets (3-2) with 17 points, while Shannon O’Malley tallied nine and Rebecca Fogg added eight.

The Tigers (2-2) were paced by senior forward Madison Lux with 10 points, the only player to reach double figures.

Rangeley 37, Valley 31

RANGELEY — Sophomore point guard Brooke Egan scored 12 points and garnered four steals to lead Rangeley to a 37-31 victory over Valley in girls’ basketball action Tuesday evening.

Rebounds were a big game-changer in the final quarter for the Lakers (1-1) as Natasha Haley and Sydney Royce hauled down 19 to go along with their seven points each.

Sophomore forward Kendra Sweet led the Cavaliers with a team-high seven points in the losing effort.

Gray-NG 51, Lincoln Academy 35

GRAY — Senior center Skye Conley tossed a game-high 18 points as the Patriots remain undefeated on the season with a 51-35 triumph over Lincoln Academy in girls’ basketball action Tuesday evening.

The Patriots (4-0) extended their five-point lead in the third quarter with assistance from senior Grace Kariotis, who scored six of her 13 points in the frame.

Senior point guard Brie Wajer recorded a team-high 16 points for the Eagles (2-2) in the losing effort.

Oxford Hills 54, Windham 49

WINDHAM — Maighread Laliberte drained a game-high 14 points as Oxford Hills dispatched Windham 54-49 in girls’ basketball action Tuesday evening.

The Vikings jumped out to a 14-4 first quarter lead. Julia Colby contributed 11 points for Oxford Hills.

Hannah Talon led the Eagles with 12 points on four field goals, including three from three-point range, and three free throws in the losing effort.

Portland 73, Lewiston 31

PORTLAND — Lewiston stayed within two points of Portland in the first quarter before the defending state champions hit high gear and sped away to a 73-31 rout over Lewiston on Tuesday in a boys’ basketball tilt.

Perrion Moss led the Bulldogs (4-0) with 26 points, highlighted by three shots from outside the circle. Griffin Foley chipped in with 14 points, the only other player in double figures.

The Blue Devils (0-4) were led by Luke Madore with eight points, while Garrett Poussard added seven.

Kennebunk 57, Leavitt 50

KENNEBUNK — Kennebunk went on a 23-10 run in the third quarter and pulled away to post a 57-50 win over Leavitt in a hard-fought boy’s hoops tilt Tuesday.

Cam Lovejoy led the Rams (2-2) with a game-high 25 points, including five shots from beyond the arc. Kyle Pasieniuk also contributed with 12 points.

The Hornets (0-5) were led by Mick Angello with 16 points, while Jack Sylvester tallied 13 and D’Andre James added 10.

Old Orchard Beach 55, Poland 53

POLAND — Old Orchard Beach rallied back from an 11-point deficit to pull off a narrow 55-53 victory over Poland in another hard-fought girls’ basketball tilt.

Ian Regan led the Seagulls (2-2) with 15 points, while Brian Davis chipped in with 14. Kyle Allen also contributed with 12 points, while Cody Blanchette added 10.

The Knights (2-2), who were down by 16 at one point, were led by Kurtis Leighton with 16 points, while Caleb Hodgkin chipped in with 13.

Richmond 76, St. Dom’s 44

RICHMOND — Zach Small and Matt Holt each had 18 points and eight rebounds to pace the Richmond past the St. Dominic Academy 76-44 in boys’ basketball action.

Cody Tribbet chipped in with 12 points as the Bucks improve to 5-0 on the season.

Sam Rines led all scorers with 21 points for the Saints (0-3).

Edward Little 71, Cheverus 51

AUBURN — Junior forward Darby Shea poured in an impressive 24 points to power Edward Little to a 71-51 victory over Cheverus in boys’ basketball action Tuesday evening.

The Red Eddies (4-0) went on a second quarter tear, outscoring Cheverus by a margin of 31-11 in the frame. Senior guard Samatar Iman contributed 16 points for Edward Little.

Senior guard Jack Casale posted a team-high 15 points for the Stags (3-1) in the losing effort.

Valley 63, Rangeley 52

RANGELEY — Junior Josh Brown rattled off 20 points to lead Valley to a 63-52 victory over Rangeley in boys’ basketball action Tuesday evening.

The Lakers (0-2) went cold in the second quarter, outscored 13-2 in the frame. Junior guard Kyle LaRochelle tossed a team-high 16 points for Rangeley, while senior guard Carl Trafton contributed 15 points.

Junior Dillon Beane produced 11 points in a balanced attack by Valley in the winning effort.

Gray-NG 63, Lincoln Academy 54

NEWCASTLE — John Martin scored 12 of his game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter as Gray-New Gloucester secured a 63-54 victory over Lincoln Academy in boys’ basketball action Tuesday evening.

The Patriots (2-2) sprung from a 40-40 tie in the third quarter to a nine-point margin at the final buzzer. John Henry Villanueva pitched in with 16 points for Gray-New Gloucester.

Cody Tozier tossed seven field goals and seven free throws to lead the Eagles (2-2) with 21 points in the losing effort.
