Hebron Board of Selectmen

Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, Town Office

Sale of land

What happened: Aaron Geyer has expressed interest in buying 2 acres of town land that surrounds his property on Goodrich Road.
What it means: Selectman Dan Eichorn questioned whether the parcel has a right of way, because it’s landlocked.
What’s next: Selectman James Reid will look into whether bids will be required for the sale. The board will also research whether there is a right of way listed on the deed.

Road sand

What happened: Because of a surplus in screened sand from last year’s mild winter, the town did not purchase more for this year.
What it means: Reid estimated there are about 500 cubic yards left in the sand/salt shed at 13 Depot Circle, and more may be needed this winter. The price is the same as in September 2016.
What’s next: Selectmen approved buying more if needed.

Transfer Station

What happened: The volume of waste has been greater than the hauling schedule could handle, because of the holidays.
What it means: Selectmen are trying to figure out the most economical system of standard dumpsters and roll-off 40-yard containers.
What’s next: An updated spreadsheet of all the data will be made to determine the best and cheapest way to manage the waste at the Goodrich Road station.
