YARMOUTH – The 20th annual Blakeman Memorial Tennis Tournament will be held at Yarmouth High School courts on the weekend of July 17-19. The tournament, held in conjunction with the Yarmouth Clam Festival, is sanctioned as a major outdoor event of the Maine Tennis Association.
Competition will be held in men’s open singles and doubles, women’s open singles and doubles, mixed doubles, and men’s 55-and-over singles and doubles.

Hoop tournament to benefit Special Olympics
LEWISTON – There will be a 5-on-5 basketball tournament July 25 and 26 at Kennedy Park. All proceeds will go to Special Olympics. Cost is $20 per player. Registration is Saturday, June 25 from 9 to 11 a.m., or preregister by calling Adam Turner at 513-0624. There will be a $500 cash prize and trophy to the winning team.
Mollyockett Day Classic registration continues
BETHEL – There is still time to register for the Mollyockett Day Classic 5-mile road race, 1-mile fun run and 3-mile walking event scheduled for Saturday, July 18. Raceday registration will end at 7:45 a.m.
Pre-registration cost is $10 for the fun run and $13 for the 5K or the walk. That includes a T-shirt to the first 150 registrants, with a $5 discount if no shirt is desired. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division. Registration forms are available by calling 824-2282 or by email at [email protected].
