“People must be staying in between the lines so far,” he said.

The Oxford Fire Department was called for a vehicle that crashed into a telephone pole near 168 Mechanic Falls Road.

The storm forced Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and Oxford Hills Middle School to close at noon, and all elementary schools to close at 1 p.m., according to the Norway Police Department.

Oxford Hills adult education classes and after-school activities were also canceled.
