Timothy Brienza is presented the Regional School Unit 16 Student of the Month award for January by Jeff Gagnon, president of the Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland Tri-Town Optimist Club. The eighth-grader at Whittier Middle School in Poland is described as helpful, kind, dependable, curious, hardworking – and always smiling. Brienza helps neighbors, encourages younger teammates in the Poland Panther Track Club and helps maintain trails for the Poland Sno Travelers.
