NEW SHARON — The United Methodist Church of New Sharon will welcome a new pastor, Karen Merrill, on Sunday, July 2.

The present pastor, Karen Garcia, has served since 2005. Congregation members said they are appreciative of her long-time commitment and service and they wish her well for the future.

A brunch will be held following the service on Sunday, June 11.

Merrill, who resides in West Gardiner, has an extensive background in education and brings a wealth of knowledge to her pastorship. Everyone is welcome at the 9 a.m. service at the United Methodist Church.
