LEWISTON — The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is offering a free seminar on workforce skills from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at the chamber office, 415 Lisbon St.

The title is Working the Workforce Seminar: Boosting Skill-Attainment for Entry Level Workers. Presenter will be Peter Weymouth, training and development coordinator, Northeast Technical Institute.

The seminar focuses on the urgent need to take a long-term view of the employer’s role to enhance competitiveness by supporting middle-level skills learning system for new hires. Attendees will learn about a successful high-velocity, high-impact training program that is qualifying workers for full-time, high-demand employment.

Employers will relate to competency training needs for in-demand positions.

Educators will see alignment of curricula to meet the employer’s urgent need.

Individuals seeking employment will learn about training that will help them succeed in a manufacturing career.
