Society to have new water heater
WEST PARIS — The West Paris Historical Society Monday, May 21. The group gathers the third Monday of every month.
The Society met on April 23. It was voted to buy a new water heater. A sign-up sheet will be available for the eight Sundays of open museum from 1 to 4 p.m. A lengthy discussion was held on the annual calendar money raffle, with a “yes” vote, and a new raffle for the hunters breakfast on the first day of hunting season was approved.
Society to discuss Backingdom Road
MEXICO — The Mexico Historical Society will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, May 21, in the Calvin Lyons Hall. Members are asked to bring a dish for potluck.
The topic for the evening will be Backingdom Road. Members, guests and new members are welcome.
Homemakers to hear talk on bees
CHESTERVILLE — The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers will sponsor a presentation on “Bees” by Russell Black at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, in the Chesterville Town Office, Dutch Gap Road.
Black will bring his portable bee hive and speak on the importance of bees for society. The public is always welcome.

Church seeks donations for sale
PHILLIPS — Phillips Community Church is seeking donations, especially craft supplies, for its flea market that will be held Saturday, June 2.

Dixfield Legion Nickel Bingo
DIXFIELD — The Dixfield American Legion holds Nickel Bingo from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Fridays. Doors open at 4 p.m.
Kite-flying group to be formed
NORWAY — A “Color the Sky, Kite Fly!” group will hold monthly meetings on weekends in Norway and surrounding towns, dates to depend on the wind. Time of kite-flying sessions will be from 1 to 4 p.m., meeting at area locations.
