Poetry created by Tripp Middle School Students.

I am sparkly, and an artist of many types.

I wonder if I will live to be 100.

I see pollution and question the reason.

I want someone to stop the greenhouse effect.

I am a tree-hugger, and love nature.

I pretend that my beanie babies need comforting when I am sad,

so I cover them with blankets and keep them close.

I feel sad when I see forests being cut down and too many

houses squished together.

I don’t know why people must hate.

I worry about burglars at night in bed.

I cry about silly things that my brother and I do to each other.

I understand that life won’t be perfect.

I say what I feel, if it will make a difference.

I dream about being someone special.

I try to be myself, but still fit in.

I hope that one day I will live in the woods.

I am a fawn, aware of danger, but still finding time to leap over

streams and walk through the woods.

No idea what lies ahead

no idea what’s in store

all new to my eyes and ears

anticipating this for years and years

adapting to this new way

but old friends always stay

stick by your side

guiding each other through

studying until your brain is fried

holding close while you cried

there’s place in their hearts

where you friendship resides
