BATH – The Androscoggin Valley Conservation District will host a workshop for property owners, “How to Enroll in the Tree Growth, Farmland or Open Space Programs,” from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 18, at the Bath Municipal Center, Front Street.

The workshop will provide landowners with information on Maine’s three current-use property tax programs: Tree Growth, Farmland and Open Space.

Staff from the Maine Department of Agriculture and the Maine Revenue Service will discuss the pros and cons of each program and will allow time for questions. Presenters will also provide tax bulletins, application forms and sample calculations for properties enrolling in, and withdrawing from, the voluntary land preservation programs.

The workshop is being co-sponsored by the Sagadahoc Regional Rural Resource Initiative and the Maine Department of Agriculture. Those interested should call the district office at 753-9400, ext. 400, as soon as possible.
