LEWISTON — The Summer Fun and Films midweek movie night with the Lewiston police has been moved to Thursday.

Community Resource Officer Joe Philippon said Wednesday the event will be held at the Pettingill School park on College Street.

Typically, the outdoor movies and family activities are held Wednesdays, but stormy weather prompted the event to be moved one day.

The family activities begin at 6 p.m. Thursday. The movie, “Black Panther,” will be shown at dusk.

Thursday is the last fun movie night of the summer, Philippon said. This summer is the third year Lewiston police officers have hosted the event, which is an example of what national experts recommend police try to do: Get to know their communities in nonofficial ways.

Philippon said the movie nights have had great attendance this year.

The event is sponsored by the Gendron Franco Center, in partnership with the Lewiston Police.
