AUBURN – Maine children’s book author Lynn Plourde will give the keynote speech on Saturday, May 22, at the Finders/Seekers kick-off event for distribution of literacy bags at Central Maine Community College.

Western Maine ACCESS Early Learning Opportunities Grant will lend child care providers 60 literacy bags for promoting literacy skills in children. Plourde will demonstrate ways to share books interactively and to promote oral language skills. Call Pam or Andrea at 795-4065 for more information.

Plourde is a Skowhegan native. She currently lives in Winthrop with her family.
