Priscilla A. Caron
1926 – 2009
AUBURN — Priscilla A. Caron, 83, a resident of The Highland Apartments on Center Street in Auburn and formerly of the Ferry Road in Lisbon for 32 years, passed away early Tuesday, Dec. 29, at The Hospice House with her son and husband by her side.
She was born in Lewiston, Sept. 18, 1926, a daughter of Emile and Merilda (Parent) Gervais. She was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this area. On Jan. 25, 1947, she married Joseph H. Caron of Lewiston, who was a well-known meat cutter at several local markets. She first worked several years as a weaver at both the Androscoggin and Bates mills and later worked at home, tending to the house and family as she and Joe raised their son Marcel.
Among her favorite enjoyments were gardening, knitting and watching and feeding birds and appreciating all of nature. For many years, she and her husband Joe thoroughly enjoyed attending and supporting Grange Hall bean suppers, especially the one in Danville. She was a very loving and devoted wife and mother, who will be greatly missed.
She leaves her husband, Joseph H. Caron of Auburn; her son, Marcel Caron of Auburn; a sister, Bea Gousse of Lisbon; and two brothers, Henry Gervais of Lewiston and Raymond Gervais and wife, Helen, of Montana.
She was predeceased by a sister, Irene Verrette; and three brothers, Lucien, Robert and Joe Gervais.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Dr. Kurt Oswald and staff, Dr. Cynthia Desoi and staff, nurses aide Michelle Hawkins, Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and The Hospice House and staff.
