Arthur Paradis and Irene Pomerleau enjoy the weather in their yard in Lewiston on Tuesday afternoon. “We don’t want to stay in the house on a day like this!” Pomerleau said. The two were longtime friends before their spouses died. Arthur called Irene to check on her after her husband died and invited her to go for a ride. She thought getting out of the house was a great idea, but laughed when he said he would be over to pick her up at six the next morning. They have been together ever since. (Andree Kehn/Sun Journal)
