PARIS — The Oxford Hills Reading is Fundamental programs celebrated another successful read-a-thon for SAD 17 students grades kindergarten through six by raising more than $13,000.

An ice cream social was held to recognize this years’ outstanding read-a-thon participants, and 128 students were invited for either raising $50 or more or being a top place reader within the district. They also received awards.

Top readers for grades kindergarten to three: first, Amber Perrin, Oxford; second, Hannah Crocker, Rowe; third, Haley Kennagh, Paris.

Top readers for grades four to six: first, Lukas Douglas, Oxford; second, Jade Keene, Rowe; third, Caitlyn Lord, Oxford.

Top pledges for grades kindergarten to three: first, Cameron Richards, Oxford; second, Destiny Eppinger, Oxford; third, Andrew Binette, Paris.

Top pledges for grades four to six: first, Kendall Hill, Rowe; second, Sydney Rowell, Paris; third, Erin Cleary, Oxford.

The local business communities have supported the RIF program for many years.

The program provides free books for students in grades kindergarten through six district wide (2,000 students) through a grant and participation in the read-a-thon.

Each school relies on volunteers to hand out books three times a year.
