NEWRY — SeniorsPlus, the area agency on aging based in Lewiston, will hold its third annual Aging Well Living Well Expo on Friday, Oct. 1, at Sunday River’s Grand Summit Resort.

Participants may attend workshops and events inside and have an opportunity to ride Sunday River’s “chondola” to view the fall foliage from the top of the mountain. Dr. Joy Heptner of the Alzheimer’s Association will kick off the day with “Caregiving: The Art of the Possible.” Afternoon keynote speaker Connie Jones will present “Aging: The Seven Daily Deadly Sins.”

The day is an opportunity to learn important information such as Maine’s new Silver Alert, the basics of Medicare, budgeting on a fixed income and joint health for older adults, as well as opportunities to try new skills such as bocce ball, zumba, woodcarving or beekeeping.

Conference attendees have an opportunity to give back to their community through a large raffle auction of items, with all proceeds going to Medical Rides for the Elderly.

Registration is $15 each person which includes all activities and meals. Transportation from Lewiston is available at an additional cost, if needed.
